-Tourmaline is a cyclosilicate material whose name is derived from the Sinalese word tourmali or touramali that characterized the semi-precious stones (especially zircon) in Sri Lanka. In the early 19th century, however, it was discovered that some “zircons” were actually another mineral, which was given the name tourmaline.
-The legend says that when Tourmaline made the long journey from the centre of the earth to its surface, she met the rainbow on her way and took with her all its colours. There is no other mineral on earth which with transparency, hardness and purity presents all these colours and beautiful combinations of two or three colours.
-The infinite faces of this stone have long led people to believe that it is magical.
