Torpeado earrings.
Sterling silver 925, platinum-plated.
Handmade silver earrings with natural labradorite stones from the Torpeado series.
-Labradorite is a translucent mineral belonging to the large mineral family of the feldspars.
-When the surface of labradorite is polished, it shows a striking iridescence: a play of light with shifting reflections in many colours. This optical effect is created by light reflecting off successive surface layers and is called labradorescence.
-Labradorite takes its name from the Labrador region of Canada, where it was discovered around 1800. Today it is found in Ukraine, the Ural Mountains, the USA and Canada.
-The precious qualities of labradorite used in jewellery making are: 1) spectrolite, the finest quality of labradorite, found in small quantities in Finland, 2) sunstone, with orange-brown hues, and 3) moonstone.
